Principal
I take a privileged and honoured to appoint as Principal of MVN JS & RVR College of Arts and Science. The college has 49 years of glorious past. Since its inception in 1972, the college has been flourishinbg in all spheres, imparting quality and value based education. The college was accredited by NAAC with B grade with 2.78 score in 2016. It has been recognised as the Centre of Excellence in higher education. The management of the college has been continuously striving to provide quality education to this rural students at a very low fee structure.
Presently, the college is functioning with BA, B.Sc.,B.Com (G & CA) & BCA programmes in UG and MA English course in P.G. The college has 40 memebers in the teaching department and 21 non-teaching staff. The student strength of the College is 1128 out of which 65 % are girls. The are excelling in the field of academics, culture, arts, sports and other extensive works.
The alumni of the College speaks volumes about the College. Many students of the College have fared well and settled in good postitions in various places of the World. Some of them are IAS, IFS officers and many of them are settled in foreign countries. The honourary president of the college alukni is Sri.Jampana Venkata Rangaraju, Director, NCC Ltd. The founder and other directors are also the alumni of the trust. The NCC Ltd., have donated 3 buses (50+1 sater) to the college worth of 60 Lakhs for the transportation of the college students. The Alumni have contributed Rs.13 Lakhs of rupees for the development ofthe college.
Another worth addressing point is, the RUSA has selected our college for funding and 2 crores have been sanctioned for establishing a block with 8 class rooms, upgrading of conference hall on Library block, consturction of toilets for Staff & students.
The management has created a very good academic ambience by providing well established labarotaries, e-class rooms, conference hall and ICT facilties like Smart boards, MANA TV.
The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has recognised our college as a source for imparting skills to the unemployed youth and established APSSDC(Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation).
The college was also slected by the ministry of Human Resource Development and lanunched UBA 2.0 (Unnat Bharath Abhiyan) aflagship programme in our college, with the intension to enrich rural India.
I am taking this opportunity to congratualte the department of Physical Education and students for their great achievements.
I also appreciate the extensive activities taken up by the NSS programme officers and NSS volunteers. They have sincerely participated in ODF survey, Gram Darshini, Navanirmana Deeksha, Janmaboomi- Maavooru and Swatcha Barath activities.
The IQAC of the college has played a pivotal role in organising many curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities every year.
