College History

In a rural pastoral back ground in the remote area of Konaseema, MVN JS & RVR College of Arts & Science, with BA., B.Sc. and B.Com faculties was started by the Antervedipalem Firka Development Trust, Malikipuram, in the  year 1972. The college has been developed gradually and got the appreciation of the general public, Affiliating universities Andhra University(upto 2012) and Adikavi Nannaya University (From 2013 onwards) and Government authorities for its discipline, result and maintenance. The college was recognised by UGC under section 2(f) in 1981 and section 12(B) in 1979.

Later college started new PG course MA(English) and UG courses like  B.Sc(Maths, Electronics & Comp. Science-MECs),  Chemistry, Biochemistry & Biotechnology-CBCBT) B.Com(Vocational), BCA, B.Com(CA) to provide the latest combinations in the college. At present there are 1130 students.

The college has buildings of 32 rooms in one block and 12 rooms in another block, besides the accommodation for the High School and Junior college separately. The college has a good library building separately with nearly 15860 books and 38 journals for issue to the students. The College has sufficient play ground with all the established courts and a Gymnasium with facility, for indoor and outdoor games. The college having Indoor Sports Training Faility Centre with 6-wooden courts with synthatic mats. There are well equipped laboratories for the science departments (viz) Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Mathematics and English Language Laboratory. In B.Com faculty also the college is offering Accounting with Computers as elective subject. Co-curricular, extracurricular, Sports and Games activities are given due weightage. The college has 4 NSS Units, Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club, to take community orientation and extension activities. College having ESC centre by APSSDC.

There are 4 members of Teaching staff including the Principal besides 39 un-aided lecturers and 15 of Non-teaching staff besides 7 un-aided members.

The college stands out in distinction in achieving results with disciplined environment on the campus. The college is accredited by NAAC with B+ grade in 2007 in the first cycle and grade with B (score 2.78 equivalent to B++ in new system) grade in the year 2016. The college was selected by Commissioner of Collegiate Education as one of the centres out of 59 colleges for to develop as Centre of Excellence(CoE) and following the guidelines given by the CCE. College adopted 37 best practices in a phase manner.
